Jeroen van Koningsbrugge prefers not to be in the spotlight, prefers not to walk red carpets and prefers not to talk to the gossip media, he says in the Weekend. “Then what do I have to say?”
Celebrities love to flirt with the fact that they don’t really want to be known at all and don’t really want any attention at all. Totally unbelievable of course. Jeroen van Koningsbrugge is already making it big. He said this in an extensive interview with the gossip magazine Weekend that he prefers not to talk to the tabloids.
‘Beau wanted me’
Jeroen points out that he is very down to earth and still remembers how Beau van Erven Dorens once wanted to launch him. “Beau wanted me… He said it was unbelievable that after two seasons in a hospital series no one still recognized me. I said: ‘Well, I find that quite relaxing’!”
Jeroen declined Beau’s request to join RTL Boulevard. “I said: ‘That’s not necessary for me.’ Didn’t work either. So it was very funny that he wanted that so badly and it didn’t work out.”
Anonymity
In fact, he sometimes longs for anonymity, says Jeroen. “I secretly hope that people don’t recognize me. A red carpet is really an exception for me. I actually never do that. Just like interviews like now.”
Why would Jeroen prefer not to give an interview like he is doing now? “Because I think: dude, what do I have to say? And are people waiting for that? For my opinion on things? No.”
Annoying
After this interview, Jeroen no longer does it. “I already find my own opinion annoying, so let alone I want to bother others with it.”
Finally: does he have anything to say about his private life? “The children are getting a bit older and so we have a bit more time. That gives a lot of peace and yes, we are looking forward to that.”
