At this point in his career, Jeroen van Koningsbrugge has to be incredibly careful of image damage, says TV professor and former SBS boss Tina Nijkamp. “You get a fatigue.”
It is the standard choice when TV makers work on a panel show with celebrities: Jeroen van Koningsbrugge. Why is a mystery, but he can almost always be seen as a team captain in these types of programs. He also plays a major role in the current Marieke Elsinga flop Alles is Muziek, in which celebrities bang on household objects to make music.
‘Watch out, Jeroen!’
Tina Nijkamp, who was at the helm of SBS 6 for years, thinks that Jeroen is in danger. It hurts him that Alles is Muziek is not taken off the tube, she thinks. “For him, a lot depends on this. He must be careful in terms of image damage that he does not fall into the comparison category of Avastars,” she writes in her Instagram stories.
Shows with poor ratings are now often compared to Avastars. “Jeroen now gets that a bit with panel shows: ‘Another childish panel show with Jeroen van Koningsbrugge’, or: ‘A typical Jeroen van Koningsbrugge panel programme’.”
Long-playing record
The same warning Tina gives him talking to The Telegraph. “Jeroen van Koningsbrugge also has to be careful. He’s on a lot of panel shows as DNA unknown. Then you get a kind of fatigue. He can be seen on many channels and on NPO 1 and on RTL 4 and on SBS 6, that does not help.”
She continues: “Soon Kamp van Koningsbrugge will start and then Everything is music will continue. You run the risk that people will now say: ‘Oh, that’s another childish Jeroen van Koningsbrugge panel programme.’
Overdose
Tina points out on her Insta page that Jeroen will soon be seen a lot on television. “The presenter who is most often on TV at the moment with his own program is Jeroen van Koningsbrugge.”
She concludes: “In one week he can be seen with Alles is Muziek, Wire Steel and the rerun of Smeris. So Kamp van Koningsbrugge will soon be added to that.”
