The incurably ill Jeroen Willems (43) had a farewell video made by Stichting Komma. He wants to leave something visible and tangible of himself for his children. The foundation notices that Noorderlingen does not find it easy to have such a video made.

Jeroen Willems was born and raised Assenaar and worked for years as a reporter for RTV Drenthe. He feels pretty good in the week in which he does not get a chemo. Next week he has to go to the hospital again and then it is determining how things are going every day.

The chemo, which he receives for metastatic colon cancer, causes numb fingertips, nausea and a lack of concentration. It is his last cure. Then he has to do everything on his last forces. “I don’t think I’ll get the next Christmas,” he says.

But as long as he feels powerful enough, he is fully part of his family, with wife Leentje and his daughter Daantje (9) and son Rem (11). The open days for high schools are coming.
