Jelt (13) wins a football trip worth a thousand euros with this beautiful goal

Jelt van Pinxteren (13) from Boxtel has won a thousand euros with a magnificent goal that he can spend on a football trip. His goal for ODC from Boxtel was voted ‘Moment of the Year’. The goal came from a corner, after which Jelt scored with a heel.

Visitors to the amateur football website Voetbal.nl, an initiative of the KNVB, thought Jelt was by far the best of the five candidates. “I received 401 votes, the number two only 314 votes”, says Jelt proudly.

The five best actions on the field of the current season were selected by the KNVB. “That was a very nice goal. Is it a consciousness or was it luck?”, asks the well-known presenter and street football player Soufiane Touzani when he announces the five candidates. “A lot of people say it was by accident, but it was deliberate. I wanted to shoot at the goal through my heel,” Jelt told Omroep Brabant.

A brilliant goal, but he did not expect to win the election. “I was behind with the votes at first, so I didn’t expect a profit. But then I suddenly saw that I was catching up and could get over it. A lot of people have also voted for me that I don’t know,” says the young Boxtel native who prefers to be would earn money from his sport.

“I’ve already participated in a scouting day at FC Den Bosch, but I didn’t make it then. Maybe in the future,” he says. He has also been selected by the KNVB to train with the boys (Future group) under 14 years for the East Brabant region.

“I train twice a week at ODC and once a week at the KNVB. Sometimes we play exhibition games against the youth of Helmond Sport or FC Eindhoven. If possible, I also want to play at a professional football club, although that is quite difficult.”

Jelt has been playing football since he was four. “I’ve been on the field for as long as I know. My father is also a trainer,” he explains. He also wants to take father Jos on the football trip that he has now won. “I want to go to Spain or Italy and preferably to a game of Real Madrid, Juventus or AC Milan.”
