Jeffrey Herlings taken to hospital after a hard fall during the German GP

Motocross rider Jeffrey Herlings from Oploo crashed hard during the MXGP in Germany. Just before the end of the first moto he flipped over. Herlings has serious neck problems and was taken to hospital after a check-up by a doctor.

Herlings crashed on hills after the track. He flipped over and didn’t land well. He went to a doctor with an ice pack. The motocross rider did make it to the finish, he finished seventeenth.

It is still unclear whether and what consequences Herlings’ fall will have for the rest of the season.

Broken heel bone
Herlings had made his comeback this season after missing last year with a broken heel bone. He came back to the top surprisingly quickly.

Last season’s injury took a toll. “I do drive differently, because it is no longer so explosive. And I no longer take those crazy risks. My driving style is a bit calmer, but I do think that I can become world champion with it”. he said about it himself last week, in the run-up to the Grand Prix of Latvia.
