Jeff Goldblum has announced new jazz songs with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The project entitled Still Blooming will be released on April 25th.
There is already a first impression with “The Best Is Yet To Come”, an interpretation of Frank Sinatra’s immortal classic. The play is sung by Hollywood colleague Scarlett Johansson, who has been sailing several times as a singer in the past.
With island backdrop in an animated video, the original swing jazz song with Big Band becomes an elegant Bossa-Nova variation.
Goldblum got further prominent help for his third album according to the Capitol Studios Sessions (2018) and I Shildn’t Be Telling You This (2019). Ariana Grande and he already met with the shooting of “Wicked” (nominated for 10 Oscars). Now is on board for “I don’t know why (i just do)”. Eriva can be heard on “We’ll Meet Again”. In addition, the singer Mayka Sykes lends her voice for “Stella by Starlight”.
Still Blooming is audible a tribute to the golden era of Broadway and uses a lot of elegance from the Great American Songbook.
