JD Sports appoints new chief financial officer

JD Sports has appointed Dominic Platt as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Platt will “expectedly” begin his new role later this year, the British retailer said on Thursday. He takes over from Neil Greenhalgh, who will leave the company in late summer, JD Sports announced in October.

During his career, Platt has gained extensive experience in international public and private companies. He comes from the digital financial service provider BGL Group, where he worked as CFO. Platt is also an independent Non-Executive Director at UK online retailer N Brown Group Plc.

“He brings strong international and publicly traded expertise and a wealth of experience in consumer facing companies,” said Régis Schultz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at JD Sports. “Having worked closely with Dominic before, I am confident that his financial expertise, deep corporate governance knowledge and strategic advice will be instrumental in driving the next chapter in JD’s global growth story.”
