(toSkanews) – In Tokyo, Japan, the new great Sumo champion is celebrated: Hoshoryu, born in Mongolia, became the 74th Yokozuna, or “great champion”, in the history of the ancient Japanese sport, after winning the second tournament of his career this week and obtaining the promotion to the highest degree of the Sumo.
The 25 -year -old has been the first new Yokozuna since 2021 and the only fighter to currently hold the high degree. The ceremony took place at the Meiji Sanctuary in Tokyo.
