Janssen misses a place in the Orange selection international against Belgium due to marriage | NOW

It appears that Vincent Janssen will not be available for the Dutch national team’s Nations League international match against Belgium if he gets a place in the final roster of national coach Louis van Gaal. The Mexican striker CF Monterrey prefers his marriage.

The 27-year-old Janssen was surprisingly included on Friday in Van Gaal’s thirty-man provisional selection corps for the four Nations League matches of Orange in June. The Netherlands will start the international match against Belgium on June 3 in Brussels.

Janssen’s wedding is scheduled for June 4 in the United States. “His wedding will certainly continue. He has been working on organizing all of this properly for a year,” Janssen’s mother, former top swimmer Annemarie Verstappen, told Saturday. The Telegraph

Janssen’s selection also came as a huge surprise to the player himself. He had therefore not taken the international match into account, after he played his seventeenth and last international match in October 2017. It is still unclear about the availability of the former attacker from AZ, Tottenham Hotpur and Fenerbahçe in the other three international matches. “It is only the pre-selection, so there is no reason to worry about anything yet,” said Verstappen.

Vincent Janssen played seventeen international matches and scored seven times.

Janssen only scored once this season

Janssen was a regular base player for the Orange squad in 2016 and 2017 under then national coach Danny Blind. In the summer of 2019, he signed with Monterrey, where he is a starting player this season. At the beginning of this month, he only scored his first goal in his fifteenth league game.

On Friday, May 27, Van Gaal will announce the final selection for the international matches of Orange in June. Besides away against Belgium, the Netherlands will play away (June 8) and at home (June 14) against Wales and at home against Poland (June 11).

The Orange squad then only waits for two more Nations League games in September, after which the first World Cup game is scheduled on November 21. Senegal is then the opponent.
