Alcaraz (19), who was defending champion in Umag and won his first ATP title there, is in fifth place in the world ranking. For the 20-year-old Sinner, it was his sixth tournament win on the ATP Tour and his first this year.
The two tennis players recently met at Wimbledon. In the fourth round Sinner was too strong for Alcaraz.
