The police announced on Thursday afternoon that they were looking for ‘Jan from Asten-Heusden’. On the night of August 4, he assaulted two teenage girls in Zeilberg. One of them was also assaulted by him. The suspect is given one week to report to the police, otherwise a facial photo will be distributed.
The young man meets the girls earlier in the evening in a café on Blasiusweg and introduces himself as ‘Jan’. The police do not know whether this is his real name. In the café he already touched one of the girls, after which the victim indicated that he did not like this and walked away from him.
Sexual assault
The two girls came outside around 3 a.m. and were approached again by the same man. He was also pawing again. One of the girls was also assaulted by the suspect and fell to the ground with him.
When the girl and her friend resisted the man, he started kicking and hitting. When bystanders approach, he decides to grab his bicycle and takes off.
Less than 5 to 10 minutes later, the suspect cycles back to the girls alone and starts talking to them. They immediately ask him to leave, while bystanders call the police and capture the man in a video. This ensures that the suspect eventually really leaves.
