James Morrison’s partner found dead

He asked that “the family be left alone to grieve in peace.”

The wife of James Morrison, Gill Catchpole, is dead. The 45-year-old was found lifeless in the couple’s home in Gloucestershire, Great Britain, on Friday (January 5). Nothing is currently known about the cause of death.

The two have two children together, daughters Elsie (15) and Ada (5).

James Morrison had known his wife for 22 years

The Mirror reported on Catchpole’s death and Morrison’s grief: “Gill was found dead at the family home on Friday. James is devastated and is supported by his family. He is pulling himself together for the girls, but has asked that the family be left alone to grieve in peace.”

The British musician met his long-term partner when he was 17. He spoke about the meeting in the podcast “White Wine Question Time” in October 2021. Gill Catchpole moved into Morrison’s mother’s house as a tenant with her then partner. “It wasn’t the easiest start, but I still see it as a really romantic situation,” the 39-year-old said in the interview.

In recent years, the artist has faced some losses. In an interview with the Independent in 2015, he recounted the events: “In the space of three years, I lost members of three generations of my family: my father, my brother, my nephew.”
