RoyaltyJalayne Sutherland (1) has caught the attention of the British royal family. For Halloween, the American girl had dressed up as Queen Elizabeth, complete with handbag, hat and a duo of corgis.

On a whim, Katelyn Sutherland, the girl’s mother, sent a photo of the outfit to Windsor Castle. To her surprise, the Ohio woman received a response from the Queen’s lady-in-waiting, Mary Anne Morrison. Not only the outfit of the girl is perfect from head to toe, she is also in the picture with two corgis. Elizabeth has been a fan of this dog breed all her life. Over the years she has had more than thirty.

“The biggest inspiration for the outfit was the fact that our corgis are our daughter’s best friends,” Sutherland tells the British newspaper ‘The Sun’. “We wanted to do something where the dogs could be part of the costume party. We are also big fans of the royal family.”

big hit

The outfit was a big hit during trick-or-treating, the tradition of children walking past nearby houses during Halloween to pick up candy. “We received a lot of compliments”, continues Jalayne’s mother. “The funniest reactions were when people bowed to her or called her ‘majesty’.”

In the letter from the royal family, the Queen thanks the family for the letter and the photo. “Her Majesty was kind of you to write to her and the Queen was delighted to see the photo of your daughter, Jalayne, in her beautiful outfit,” it read.

The queen would also have added some facts about the royal corgis to the letter. “Jalayne might like to have that.”
