Generation change at the Schöffel Group.
Jakob Schöffel is the new owner of the outdoor clothing company, the Schöffel Group announced on Tuesday. As the owner of the eighth generation, he took over the management of the company on February 1 and stepped into his father’s footsteps, Peter Schöffel.
“It proudly fulfills me that Jakob is now taking over the group leadership and thus handing over the handover from the seventh to the eighth generation,” said Peter Schöffel. “With every generation change, new impulses come: Jakob brings fresh ideas and understands what family business means. He will successfully conduct the Schöffel Group and I will accompany and support it with my experience. ”
The company was founded in 1804 and, due to its more than 200-year history, describes itself as the oldest outdoor clothing company of its kind worldwide.
Business economist with an international career
After his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of St. Gallen, the new managing partner of Schöffel gained international experiences as part of a Double-Degree Master program. Through his work in trend research, advice and venture capital, he now brings knowledge of global trends and sustainable business models into the Schöffel Group, according to the company from Schwabmünchen.
In his new role, the three market units of the company – Sport, Tec and Pro – are subordinate to him. The strategic orientation of the Schöffel Group is also designed in such a way that future handover enabled sustainable and future -oriented further development as part of the current generation change.
