Jacquemus joins the beauty segment.
The French fashion house has closed a long-term beauty partnership with L’Oréal, as the beauty group announced on Friday. The cooperation is underpinned by a minority stake by L’Oréal, which is intended to finance the continuous retail growth of Jacquemus and the entry into the beauty sector.
“Fifteen years ago I started dreaming and creating Jacquendus – with perfume and beauty as an integral part of my vision for the brand,” said Simon Porte Jacquemus. “Today I am proud to further develop this dream with the support of the world’s leading beauty group L’Oréal. I look forward to shaping our future together. “
The announcement follows months of speculation that Jacquemus, the independent Paris label that Simon Porte Jacquemus founded 2009, could be looking for investor: inside.
The designer himself confirmed these rumors at the end of October. In an interview with the French magazine Le Figaro, he explained that the right time had now come to find partners: inside who support the global expansion of the label. The additional financial resources are intended to advance the next phase of the shop openings in 2025 and 2026. Even then, he indicated that the introduction to the beauty sector by investor should also be co-financed on the inside.
“We are very happy to welcome Jacquendus in the L’Oréal family and together to develop the exceptional potential of the brand in the luxury beauty segment,” said Cyril Chapuy, President of L’Oréal Luxe. “With its unique brand positioning, which is characterized by impressive creativity and a playful, social-first strategy, Jacquemus perfectly complements our portfolio iconic brands and strengthens our global market leadership.”
