Surprise! Jack White, who wasn’t originally scheduled to appear at Coachella, appeared in the official set times announcement on Tuesday. The singer-songwriter plays a 45-minute set on Saturday, opening the festival’s Mojave tent at 3 p.m., kicking off a series of shows that also include Interpol and PinkPantheress performing in the same tent later in the day. White’s official website lists Coachella’s exclusive date as April 11, suggesting he won’t be attending the festival’s second weekend.

The festival, whose lineup announcements have long been falsified by fans with unofficial wish lists, posted the Set Times on its official Instagram account. “STFU,” commented the festival – supplemented by the addition “(Set Times for U)”.

The appearance comes almost a week to the day after White’s April 4 performance on “Saturday Night Live.” In his fifth appearance on the show, he played the new songs “Derecho Demonico” and “GOD and the Broken Ribs”. He only released the two tracks the day before the SNL evening.

White’s current album

White’s last album to date, “No Name,” was released in 2024. ROLLING STONE praised it in a review as a work with “some of his best, liveliest garage blues riffs in many, many moons – with just the right pinch of eccentricity.” Aside from Coachella, White has a series of concerts planned across continental Europe for the summer, including in Germany, presented by ROLLING STONE. His next US appearance after Coachella is scheduled for the Borderland Festival in East Aurora, New York.
