Angela de Jong thinks it is a good thing that Talpa has chosen to exclude Jack van Gelder from Hélène Hendriks’ talk show. “I find it bizarre how much attention is being paid to it.”

It is one big disaster how Talpa handled the departure of Jack van Gelder from the Hélène Hendriks talk show. A PR blunder that also caused serious damage to the presenter’s image. She initially decided to lie about his absence from the winter series of her show (“he’s on holiday!”) and she was not appreciated.

Seasoning

Jack is now permanently out of the Oranje talk show: officially because he would not settle for a smaller role in the program in favor of Rutger Castricum. However, according to Johan Derksen, the real reason is still that telephone shouting match against an editor of the program, who then reported Jack to the boss.

Anyway: Hélène is the boss at her Oranje talk show, so if she really wanted to keep Jack for her program, she could certainly have done so. According to Johan, his departure is a loss for the show, because Rutger is of course a very boring type and Jack was the trendsetter of the show.

Bloodletting

Manuel Venderbos points this out in his presentation AD Media Podcast. “Is it about time or is it a loss?”

Media journalist Marcus den Blanken then: “High time. I’ve already said that three or four times.”

Angela de Jong, the big star of the podcast: “I find it bizarre how much attention there is for the departure of one guest from a program.”

Out of the bend

Marcus supports Hélène. “It is also true what Hélène says: it was always Rutger, then Jack came along and our American expert Raymond Mens. Yes, Jack is old and Jack sometimes goes out of line and well, now Jack is gone and they continue with Rutger.”

Manuel: “Dennis, you’re shaking.”

Media journalist Dennis Jansen sternly: “Next topic.”

‘I’m happy’

Dennis is completely fine with Jack being dismissed from Hélène’s program. “I agree with Angela. I actually don’t think it’s a topic at all.”

Angela concludes sternly: “Yes. He also misbehaved behind the scenes. I’m glad that Talpa is drawing consequences from that and that they don’t accept everything.”
