The Russian goalkeeper who was arrested on Friday Ivan Fedotov lawyer Alexei Ponomarev has told For Match TV about the defender’s current situation.

Fedotov had been taken to the hospital in a bad condition after he had been delivered to the military registration office with the arrest.

– At the moment, we don’t know the exact state of affairs. He was in the hospital, but for some reason he was not treated like the other patients. I haven’t been able to see him.

Fedotov was arrested on suspicion of evading the army, which could mean him two years in prison.

– According to my understanding, they want to transfer him in serious condition to some kind of military investigation, Ponomarjov said.

– He doesn’t seem to be well – like a typical sick person, Ponomarjov continued.

According to Match TV’s reporter, Fedotov complained of stomach pains and suspected poisoning while in the army office. He was then transferred to the hospital.

According to the lawyer, Fedotov has not received accurate information about the stings he received.

– He said that he was given some kind of injections, the contents of which he did not know. He was told they were prescribed by a doctor.

Fedotov, 25, signed an NHL contract with Philadelphia after last season.

The arrest is suspected to be revenge against his former club CSKA Moscow for that deal.
