Mick Fleetwood said he can’t see Fleetwood Mac continuing to perform after Christine McVie’s death. “I think the loss of Chris marks the end of it,” the 75-year-old said in an interview at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 5.

“I would say it’s over, but we’ve all said that before. It’s kind of unthinkable right now,” he explained. The other band members are still busy with their own tours and performances. “They all go out and play, so I’ll do the same and find people to play with,” the musician said.

Fleetwood Mac gave their last concert on November 20, 2019 in San Francisco. Three months later, McVie made the last public appearance at a tribute to Peter Green. She passed away in November 2022 after a short illness at the age of 79.

The members changed frequently. McVie, for example, dropped out (and came back), most recently guitarist Lindsey Buckingham left (or had to leave, depending on the testimony). McVie is the first Mac member to have died while an active member of the band.
