Olcay Gulsen is not surprised that Gerard Joling called her sweetheart Ruud de Wild ‘unsavory’ at Eva Jinek’s table. “Those editors fight every day for trouble.”
It is to be hoped that Olcay Gulsen and Ruud de Wild have additional insurance for podiatry, because it is inevitable that they have unhealthy long toes. Really everything and everyone who even cracks a small critical note about the boring bunch gets a lot of mud from the two.
All fierce
Now Eva Jinek and her talk show editors are also the losers, because Gerard Joling has called out to her at the table that Ruud is ‘unsavory’. The radio DJ is so furious about that that he called the singer, called him ‘unreliable bastard’, who also recorded and will broadcast tonight on NPO 1. So sad.
Ruud can’t get over it. “You know what I find so funny?” he says in his podcast 30 Minutes Raw. “Then I see a table full of people at Jinek, they are all furious. All fierce. And I was like, actually, why are you so furious? One is angrier than the other. All.”
Fighting for misery
Why, according to Olcay, are there so many ‘fierce’ people at Jinek’s table? “Okay, but you know how it works. Those newsrooms… There are, I don’t know how many talk shows are there? There are so many of them, so those editors fight every day about some kind of trouble, so they call around.”
And then? “Then you very quickly end up with people who dare to be very mean about someone and they start putting words in their mouths. “Yes, what did you think of that series?” And the one who reacts the most violently…”
Fierce table guests
It’s not just Jinek, says Olcay. “They also call me two, three times a week… Whether it’s Khalid & Sophie, Op1 or the Beau editors. And then they always say, “Oh yes, I’ll call you back in a minute.” But if you have a nuanced opinion, then you will not be invited. So everyone is very fierce, because of course they want to sit down at the table.”
She continues: “So yeah, in that sense I wasn’t disappointed with that at all. I just thought: I would never say on television that you think someone is unsavory. And for example, I don’t know a Gerard Joling at all. That’s a really sweet guy. What serpent tempted you to say such ugly things?”
‘Jan Slagter!’
Then Ruud suggests that Gerard has been incited by ‘fossil’ Jan Slagter. “Well, that Jan Slagter from Omroep Max, so he went to talk to him, so we heard from him… We are not going to talk about Gerard Joling. That will come later.”
Indeed. That will be on NPO 1 tonight at 9.25 pm.
