Italy’s biathlon queen presents Armani outfit

The Italian national winter sports teams will be outfitted by the Giorgio Armani fashion group for the upcoming World Cup season. Biathlon figurehead Dorothea Wierer has now presented the new ski suits from the prestigious Milanese company for the first time.

Armani and the Italian winter sports association FISI have been working together since the summer. The association announced at the end of June that the fashion label will act as a technical outfitter until the Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina in winter 2026.

In addition to clothing for competitions, the EA7 Emporio Armani brand also designs leisure products and accessories for athletes to be worn at official events.

“The world of sport continues to inspire and excite me,” said Giorgio Armani after the collaboration was announced: “Winter sports are a wonderful area to combine style and performance, with a renewed focus on the environment.”

The Armani brand EA7 was launched in 2004 and covers apparel for sports enthusiasts and professionals.

Wierer presents the new Armani outfit

The biathlete Dorothea Wierer has now shown on Instagram what the racing suits of the Italians will look like in the future. “The new outfit for the season,” the 32-year-old captioned a photo of her wearing the black suit. Green, white and red spots of color representing the Italian national colors can be seen on the thighs. Another eye-catcher is the biathlete’s azure rifle.

While Armani equips the Italian winter athletes, the Slovakian ski racer Petra Vlhová will be outfitted by the German group adidas from the new season. In the future, the Olympic champion will wear a white and orange racing suit from the ‘adidas TERREX’ series. The partnership has been agreed for several years, the 27-year-old announced in early October.

It is the first time that the sporting goods manufacturer from Herzogenaurach is outfitting an alpine athlete.
