Italian journalist Cecilia Sala (29) detained in Iran for ‘violation of Islamic laws’

The Iranian Ministry of Culture has confirmed that Italian journalist Cecilia Sala (29) has been arrested. According to the ministry, she allegedly violated the ‘Islamic laws of the republic’. Sala was in Tehran at the time for a report. No further information is yet known about the precise reasons for her arrest.
