The Spaarbankhoeve near Pesse is in the hands of Stefano Pusceddu. The owner of the Italian Ristorante Da Luca in the Hoofdstraat of Hoogeveen is the new manager of the place.
A mix between Drenthe and the Italian island of Sardinia: the Spaarbankhoeve will soon have to be registered. Pusceddu has big plans with the characteristic building and hopes to be able to open in June.
But before the time comes, there is still a lot of work. “I don’t want a modern or industrial decoration. It really needs a rural look. Something Drenthe, but also the interior of Sardinia are known for.”
The formula of his Sardinian restaurant in Hoogeveen is moving to the spot in the woods near Fluitenberg. “I don’t want to serve two locations, I really see the new place as my new existence,” says Pusceddu.
Visitors can also spend the night on the spot. In total, six rooms are available for this. “For the rest there is room for weddings, live music and there are meeting rooms where people can consult each other.”
The entire concept will also be given a different name than the Spaarbankhoeve. That will be Casa La Bella da Vita with a deer in the logo. “That because of a deer camp in the area. We try to keep it as locally as possible.”
The acquisition of the Spaarbankhoeve is more than a business decision. Pusceddu thinks it is an honor to take over. According to the Italian, the previous owners ran the company with love for 42 years. He wants to continue that.
“Something so beautiful here should not disappear,” said the entrepreneur. Somewhere in June, Pusceddu hopes to welcome its first guests. Until then, he will be busy preparing.
