The first quarter of strong growth (640,083 units registered) in the Italian automotive market ends on a positive note. In April +11.6% compared to twelve months ago, with electrified cars offering a decisive contribution. Estimates for 2026 have been revised downwards (-10 thousand units).
There is (still) a positive sign on Italian automotive market. The month of April, in fact, ended with 155,210 new cars registeredwith a growth of 11.6% compared to twelve months ago (when it reached 139,106 units). Overall, in a first quarter characterized by a plus sign, 640,083 units registered were reached (+9.8% compared to the 583,063 in January-April 2025), compared to a clear decline (-10.2%) on 2019. The current situation, moreover, leads UNRAE to revise its estimates for the current year, with an expected volume of 1,530,000 registrations (10 thousand less than initial forecasts) on December 31st.

Among them power suppliesthe constant trend of electric cars as well, with 8.5% in April (in 2025, in the same month, it had stopped at 4.8%) which comes next to 8.6% in March. A figure (13,238 units registered) which still reflects the long wave of state incentives and orders acquired over the last twelve months. The plug hybrids–in (Phev, to which the Range extenders are also added) maintain their market share of 9.1% (in 2025 the percentage stopped at +5.7%), with 14,184 units registered. Due to the sharp decline in cars gas (31,850 units, -16.6% on April 2025) e Diesel (10,718 units, -22.9%) are the electric hybrids (Hev), with 76,808 units and a +24%. In detail the full hybrid flywheel with +45.1% (25,851 specimens), also doing well mild hybrid (50,957 units, +15.5%). LPG cars are still decreasing (9,549 units, -14.8%).
