It is the warmest New Year’s Eve ever measured in Brabant

It is the warmest New Year’s Eve ever measured in our province. The record was 15 degrees in Eindhoven. A temperature of 16.7 degrees was measured there on Saturday. For example, Brabant has set a weather record on the last day of the year.

There are four weather stations in Brabant: Eindhoven, Gilze-Rijen, Volkel and Woensdrecht. “The old record from 2021 in Brabant was 15 degrees. That was in Eindhoven, but the record was broken today at all four weather stations,” says Roosmarijn Knol of Weerplaza.

There is a chance that the new record will not remain at 16.7 degrees. “The temperature is still rising slightly, but the sting is out. It could be another tenth of a degree warmer.”

“This temperature is normal in April.”

These are temperatures that belong to spring and not at the end of December. “Around this time of year, the average is 6 degrees. Now it is almost 10 degrees warmer. These temperatures are normal for the last week of April.”

There is a chance that we will break a new weather record immediately after the turn of the year. “It stays quite warm. Tonight around one o’clock it can still be about 14.9 degrees in Eindhoven. In that case we immediately broke the record of that day. The temperature will drop again during the night.”
