Arto Nyberg’s program was suddenly terminated after 20 years.
The last broadcast of Arto Nyberg’s talk show was seen on December 22.
Yle announced in October that the program will be discontinued after 20 years. The matter came as a surprise and disappointment to the presenter. HBL talked about Nyberg just before the end of the program. The host said he was still confused.
Yle said earlier that the decision was not related to Nyberg personally, but to renewing the software. However, Nyberg has different feelings.
– The viewership and feedback were good, the creators of the program were enthusiastic, and no one has complained in any way. It feels a bit like someone wanted to get rid of me, Nyberg reflects in the interview.
The talk show recently received a nomination at the Kultainen Venla gala. The last time it received a nomination was in 2009. Nyberg thinks it’s absurd that the show is getting recognition only now.
– It is really absurd that so much attention is paid to the program just when it is about to end. It has not received a nomination for 15 years, Nyberg reflects to HBL.

After the talk show ended on Sunday, viewers expressed their disappointment on social media.
In the future, the Yle Uutiset Sunday program will be shown at the same program location. The program is presented every other week Anna Lehmusvesi and Ilkka Lahti.
