With a new best of the season, Gina Lückenkemper (SCC Berlin) is on Sunday afternoon at IstAF in her “Favorite stadium“Sprinted in second place in 11.05 seconds. The American Maia McCoy won with a time of 11.01 seconds.

“It went really well today, the train forward was there and it was really fun,” said Lückenkemper happy, but “it is a little annoying, because I had the feeling that a little more would have gone today. I should have won today, but I installed a technical error.” She got up too early at the start, “because I was so happy about how brilliant the mood here in Berlin was again.”

Sina Mayer (LAZ Zweibrücken; 11.24 seconds) came over the finish line as a fourth. Lisa Marie Kwayie (Neuköllner SF; 11.40 seconds) and Delisha Benelisa Domingos (TuS Lichterfelde; 11.94 seconds) took place eight and nine.

Mile (men) – Farcs screwed on the German record

Robert Farken (SG Motor Gohlis-Nord Leipzig) has again improved the German record over the mile. The runner from Leipzig finished third over the 1,609 meters in 3: 48.83 minutes – behind the Norwegian Gilje Narve (3: 47.68) and the Italian Federico Riva (3: 48.11). Most recently, the 27-year-old at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo in 3: 49.12 minutes undercut the ancient record of Jens-Peter Herold from 1988.

“I’m very happy, of course I would have liked to win the race,” said Farken. The Norwegian Narve Gilje Nordas won in 3: 47.68 minutes, but was also allowed to cheer after his energetic closing sprint. “The goal has been reached, I came here,” he emphasized. Farken is now looking at the German Championships in Dresden next weekend and then the World Championships in Tokyo in mid -September.

Shot put (women) – Ogunleye becomes second

Kunkenschraft Olympic champion Yemisi Ogunleye (MTG Mannheim) is still looking for her top shape a week before the German athletes championships. In the Berlin Olympic Stadium, the 26-year-old did not come across the 19-meter mark with 18.88 m, the vastness ended in second place. Until the fifth attempt, Ogunleye was still in eighth and thus last place. The Swede Fanny Roos secured the victory with 19.04 m. Third, the Jamaican Danniel was Thomas-Dodd (18.82 m).

Ogunleye was initially dissatisfied with her performance. “The hustle and bustle is simply a very technical discipline. If you don’t find your rhythm, the ball does not fly and then there is a certain frustration,” said Ogunleye: “I still turned the competition – and it depends on that.”

After a first attempt at 18.07 m, she made the passages two and three invalid. It was only in the fifth attempt that she met the thrust better and took the lead in the meantime. However, the athlete of the MTG Mannheim is currently still a good distance from her open-air best performance of 20.00 m, with which she was voted Olympic champion in Paris last year.

The other German starters Katharina Maisch (18.43 m), Alina Kenzel (18.39 m) and Nina Ndubuisi (18.28 m) landed in the ranks four, five and eight-the DLV quartet has already fulfilled the qualification standards for the World Cup in Tokyo. However, only three athletes for Germany can start.

Spear throw (men) – Weber shines

Weber on the one: Julian Weber (USC Mainz) shone in the javelin throw. The world ranking list threw 84.03 meters in front of 28,500 spectators. The Pole Dawid Wegner was second with a personal best of 83.40 meters. Third place went to Cyprian Mrzyglod (81.81 meters), also from Poland.

In front of a home backdrop it will be “really cool”, many friends and his family are in the stadium, Weber said before the competition. “This is always mega in the Olympic Stadium. I drive the S-Bahn very relaxed.”

However, the competition for the 30-year-old was not quite as relaxed as the journey. Although he clearly took the lead with the second attempt, he did not come up with his season best of 91.06 meters in the Olympic Stadium. In the last round, Wegner pushed past him – but Weber countered confidently.

Niklas Sagawe (TSG Bergedorf) took eighth place.

Long jump (women) – again and again Mihambo

Tokyo Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo won the Athletics Meeting Istaf in the Berlin Olympic Stadium for the third time. The Portuguese Agate de Sousa finished second with 6.57 m. Esraa Owis (6.52 meters) came from Egypt. After starting difficulties that are not unusual for Mihambo, the 31-year-old pushed himself to first place in the third attempt and claimed it until the end. Once this season, Mihambo already skipped the 7-meter brand, and at the Diamond League Meeting in London she last reached 6.93 meters.
