Israel decided to move the embassy from Kiev to Lviv

The Embassy of Israel in Ukraine is being transferred from Kiev to consular offices in Lviv, the corresponding order was given by the head of the country’s Foreign Ministry, Yair Lapid, informs department.

The report says that such a decision was made by the Israeli Foreign Minister “after assessing the situation, <...> as well as discussions with various international actors.”

Also, diplomats in Lviv will provide assistance to citizens interested in leaving the country, primarily through land border crossings to neighboring countries.

The Israeli diplomatic mission stressed that they are ready for any development of events, including a possible evacuation from Ukraine. Based on this, employees of the diplomatic mission in Lviv, as well as employees of embassies in Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova and Hungary, visited the border crossing points with Ukraine and met with the authorities at these border points in order to ensure the passage of Israelis wishing to leave Ukraine.
