Beirut/Tel Aviv (dpa -AfX) – Several Israeli air strikes have shaken the border area between Lebanon and Syria. According to a spokesman for the Israeli army, it was a production facility for precision rockets of the Schiiteniliz Hisbollah.

Despite a ceasefire that was agreed in November last year, Israel repeatedly attacks destinations in southern Lebanon. The aim is mostly members or infrastructure of the Hisbollah.

Israel accuses the organization of wanting to rebuild its capacities. After the massacre Islamist extremist from October 7, 2023 and the subsequent Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, the Hisbollah had fired from southern Lebanon from rockets in the north of Israel for months. The Israeli army took out a coordinated counter-strike in mid-September 2024, as a result of which Hisbollah boss Hassan Nasrallah was killed and Israel’s army entered Lebanese territory. At the end of November there was a ceasefire ./cmy/dp/nas
