After the Belgian champion gave up the tough World Cup cross of Gavere last Thursday, he dropped to sixth place in the World Cup standings. He started the cross in France on Sunday with 102 points.
During the opening sprint, Iserbyt shot out of his click pedal and dropped to 15th place. Podium spot written off. After a tough catch-up race, he exchanged 15th place for 4th. A boost after the nerve pain.
At the very front there was again nothing to do about Mathieu van der Poel. After fifteen minutes the world champion had started flying and no one saw him again.
