The duo was still in sixth place on Saturday evening, but ran up on the final day on Sunday after the Medal Race. Maenhaut and Geurts were pretty third and second in the regattas of the day and thus assured themselves in fourth place with 104 points.
The Canadian sisters Georgia and Antonia Lewin-Lafrance (64 points) won the victory, but did not count in the European Championship results. The German tandem Marla Bergmann/Hanna Wille (74 points) finished second and took the European Gold as the best European duo. Aleksandra Melzacka and Sandra Jankowiak (85 points) finished in third place for Poland and seized EK silver.
