The German Dressurikone Isabell Werth has also been beaten at the Chio in Aachen in the freestyle of the Belgian Justin Verbann.
The eight -time Olympic champion with her eleven -year -old mare Wendy missed her 16th victory in the Grand Prix. As in the Grand Prix Special, Verbanne on Zonik Plus with 89.400 percent caused an unexpected record. Werth (88.440) sorted behind it.
“It is also scarce, but I have to say that Wendy was really great. That was certainly her best performance. She increased from day to day, so I’m super happy,” said Werth in the “WDR” and looked ahead: “It was clear that Justin would make life difficult for me. So we have to go a little step forward again.”
Frederic Wandres confirmed its good shape behind the two pairs. The 38-year-old, on Werth’s team Olympic champion of Paris, rode third with Bluetooth. Katharina Hemmer and Denoix dropped a little in the divided ninth place, but the two have their place in the team at the European Championship.
The explosiveness with a view to the nomination for the European Championship in Crozet (26th to 31st August) had taken out national coach Monica Theodorescu before the last exam.
Unlike planned, she had already set the contingent on Saturday evening and, in addition to Werth, Wandres and Hemmer, also nominated Ingrid Klimke. The 57-year-old had won the Grand Prix Special of the four-star tour with stallion Vayron.
