Around two weeks before the start of the World Cup, the nerves in the Polish ski jumping team are Blank. Association President Adam Malysz has now blamed sports director Alexander Stöckl for the sporting crisis of his own eagles and publicly counted the Austrian.
With Alexander Stöckl’s appointment as the new sports director, the Polish ski jumping association wanted to give its own eagle a little more update. As of today, however, this plan has failed. The proud ski jumping nation is witness to a real nightmare season, in which its best plane in the overall World Cup is only in 13th place.
This sobering status quo has now prompted Adam Malysz to a public all -round. Among other things, his goal: Alexander Stöckl.
Ski jumping legend Malysz from Stöckl “disappointed”
“We wanted Stöckl to be the leader of the entire ski jumping team. But we have the feeling that he has become a little too much team player. He lacks the distance,” Malysz counted his own sports director in the “TVP” interview.
According to Malysz, a first settlement will take place after the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim (February 26 to March 9). “Now we don’t want to put pressure on the coaches or take unnecessary steps, but I have to admit honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. I was hoping that we got more from Alex Stöckl. Give time, but time is not there, “said Poland’s ski jumping legend.
Stöckl wants to look for a conversation with Malysz
Nevertheless, Malysz emphasized that Stöckl also initiated many good things in the Polish ski jumping team. For example, in exchange with the young coach, to whom he presented his analyzes and made it clear that the right technology was ultimately more decisive than the right material.
However, this praise is clearly overlaid by the clear criticism, which Stöckl did not initially want to comment on. The Austrian only said the Norwegian newspaper “Dagbladet”: “I will have a conversation with Adam.”
