Nadia Moussaid seems to be dumped after just one season as the eve star of NPO 1, especially now that Eva Jinek is returning to public broadcasting. Or can she still be saved?
The talk show Khalid & Sophie was replaced for the first time last spring by the new talk show Nadia, in which presenter Nadia Moussaid held home-garden-and-kitchen conversations with ordinary people. A bit like Catherine Keyl did seventy years ago in her afternoon program of the same name on RTL 4.
‘Turn around’
It did not appeal to the viewer and Nadia’s ratings were therefore dramatic. Can this program go back? Maybe, but then things really have to be changed drastically, according to presenter Özcan Akyol VARA guide.
According to Özcan, it needs more spice, because he finds it unbearable. “I think that the experiment of the VPRO, an outright copy of Catherine Keyl’s success, failed enormously and that no presenter could have saved it – so it is not Nadia Moussaid’s fault.”
Angry tweeters
How would Ozcan handle this? He would bring angry tweeters to the TV screen. “As far as I’m concerned, they’re changing the format, bringing underground twitter discussions to the main stage and we can witness at home all the fanatics who can’t get along or see each other.”
According to him, such a program with a touch of Jerry Springer would become a ratings hit. “Watching radicalized people who want to kill each other, stopped by a few security guards, I’m honestly looking forward to it. Television is so boring right now. Unbearable.”
