Red Bull’s Dutch star Max Verstappen experienced drama during qualifying for the Australian GP, the opening race of the F1 season, when he crashed into the wall.
Verstappen lost control of his car in the early moments of the first section of qualifying. There was nothing he could do when the rear end of his car started to throw the track at the first corner.
Verstappen drove into the wall at speed.
The Dutchman held his hand after the crash. He visited the Melbourne track health center where he was examined.
Verstappen then returned to Red Bull’s facilities. He was captured on international television when he left the health center.
Verstappen will start Sunday’s race from the back of the pack.
