It seems that Gordon is going a little too fast when it comes to a sequel to his soap. According to Patty Brard, there is still no green light. “John de Mol didn’t order anything.”
The first season of the Gordon soap was shortened by one episode because there was simply not enough to tell, but according to producer John van den Heuvel, a second series is now being worked on. The singer is going to open catering establishments on Bonaire and Curaçao and, according to him, SBS 6 would like to follow suit. Or not?
High eyes
Tooske Ragas points it out Show news. “There was also one reality program that had expected high ratings, but was a bit disappointing in terms of viewing figures.”
Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “Gordon. That didn’t score what people might have hoped for and certainly not what he might have hoped or expected from it, because that didn’t go through the roof, although it was still reasonable with delayed viewing.”
Patty Brard: “That went well, yes.”
Well chopped
The Gordon soap did well, including delayed viewing. Bart: “Yes, exactly. A lot of work was done after the first broadcast, but it was less controversial than we had actually thought at the start. He said, ‘I’m really going to expose myself and show a different side of myself,’ but I didn’t see it myself.”
“I just saw Gordon as we have seen him running across television for thirty years. Not very innovative, but it appears that he is working on a new series after all.”
Curacao
According to Patty, it is really not clear whether that sequel will actually happen. “John van den Heuvel produces that and he said: ‘We are going to follow you with a camera now, because there is enough material to talk about’, because he is going to Bonaire and to Curacao.”
William Rutten, who is good friends with Gordon: “Such an adventure abroad can of course be quite interesting.”
Patty: “Yes, of course.”
Not sold yet
Tooske: “But it hasn’t been sold yet, right?”
Patty: “It hasn’t been sold yet. So it is being made, but the John here has not yet said: ‘Bring it on.’
TR Yes, like: ‘I’m going to broadcast it.’ There were also nine episodes of that first series, but there were only eight.”
Bart: “Yes, the last one was skipped. Peter Gillis started earlier because it was a bit disappointing.”
Tooske: “Yes, we will wait and see.”
