Is Flick bringing a Bayern star to Barcelona? Not just interest in Kimmich

The shaky giant FC Barcelona needs a new coach in the summer. One of the candidates is said to be ex-national coach Hansi Flick. According to a report, he could bring two Bayern players to Barcelona.

Xavi’s term at FC Barcelona ends at the end of June. The Catalans are currently desperately looking for a new coach to get the reigning champions back on track. A name that keeps coming up in this regard is that of Hansi Flick.

If the former Bayern and DFB coach actually hires Barca, this could also influence the Blaugrana’s transfer activities. In addition to the already known interest in Joshua Kimmich, the Catalan portal “fichajes.net” is now also bringing Bayern’s offensive player Leroy Sané into conversation.

Bayern stars Kimmich and Sané in sight

Kimmich is the big favorite to strengthen the Barcelona midfield, the report says, although an offer for Sané is also being considered in the sporting department.

Like Kimmich, Flick had worked with the winger during his tenure at Bayern and the DFB team. The national player is an “attractive option” for Barca, the portal believes, who could bring a breath of fresh air to the offensive – especially since the sporting future of players like Joao Félix or Raphinha is more than uncertain.

Sané’s contract with Bayern runs until June 2025. Kimmich, who has been repeatedly linked to Barca in recent months, also has the same contract situation.

The same applies here: If Flick actually takes over the job with the Catalans, Kimmich should also be interested in Barcelona. Under Flick, the midfielder experienced his best time in Munich and felt a level of confidence that he seems to be lacking at the moment.

With Flick, “there would definitely be another chance,” said Bayern expert and “Bild” reporter Tobias Altschäffl recently in the “Bayern Insider” podcast.

Of course, other factors also play a significant role in courting Kimmich: First and foremost, the money, which the Catalans don’t exactly have in abundance. Sports director Deco also told “Esports3” that FC Bayern was not prepared to let Kimmich go.
