Ferry Doedens stated to RTL Boulevard last week that he has his drug use ‘under control’. However, viewers are extremely skeptical. “It’s hard to believe.”

Ferry Doedens’ problems are now widely known. The actor was caught three times driving under the influence of hard drugs, including crystal meth, and those incidents were not without consequences. His entire family, including his mother, has lost contact with him. These are facts that paint a worrying picture.

Under control

Ferry claimed last week in front of the RTL Boulevard camera (see below) that he has his use ‘under control’. That is exactly the formulation that addiction experts hear again and again and which is rarely correct. Denial and trivialization are not the exception in hard drug addiction, but rather the rule.

Those who are addicted usually sincerely believe that the situation is manageable, or at least want to radiate this to the outside world. So it is not necessarily a deliberate lie, but it is of course anything but reliable. In any case, viewers of the program are seriously concerned about the fallen GTST actor.

Skeptical

It is raining skeptical reactions under the fragment on the Boulevard socials. “Having it under control is also something that is often said when they are still using. Very sad to see,” says one Vera.

Comedian Najib Amhali, himself an addiction expert, says: “You can only help someone if he wants to be helped. 🙏”

A certain Joyce replied: “Exactly this, if someone doesn’t want to be helped, you’re flogging a dead horse.”

‘He lies’

Martine thinks it is obvious that Ferry is lying. “He’s not telling the truth. You can see everything he still uses…”

One Jacqueline: “I find this very difficult to watch. I see the fatigue and the pain.”

Fenna: “I feel so sorry for him. When I see him speak, the emotion flows through me. It is so visible how he is in a bind and how the magnifying glass is put on him like this does not make it any easier.”

Robert

Mr. Robert thinks it’s funny. “Hahahaha look at those eyes. I’ve used a lot in my life but when I look like that I’m NOT SOBER gap. 😂”

Joy finally: “Protect this boy. We all see that things are not going well. We all know that ‘under control’ is user talk and we all know that this whole story boils down to: no, I did not seek help. And that active addiction without asking for help will not mean that we see a healthy Ferry.”
