Second division promoted Austria Salzburg presented a fourth newcomer on Tuesday evening: Mathew Collins changes to the Salzburgers. The 20 -year -old midfielder comes from Bundesliga club WSG Tirol, where he was part of the professional squad, but was only used for fourth -class amateurs.

Collins, who was trained in Germany at Hannover 96, among others, is the son of the British rock legend Phil Collins. Mathew was born in Phil’s adopted home of Geneva and is therefore Swiss citizen in contrast to his father. Phil Collins recently caused a sensation at the WSG when he attended a fourth division game of his son.

“We are pleased that Mat has opted for Austria. He is completely uncomplicated and down-to-earth and therefore also fits Austria,” said Austria President Claus Salzmann about the prominent access.
