Despite the rain, Iron Maiden delivered a rousing show at the Heinz von Heiden Arena – with Bruce Dickinson, Megadeth and fan classics on the setlist.
Yesterday, June 2nd, Iron Maiden made Hannover roar – and they did so with amazing lyrical confidence. 40,000 fans gathered in the Heinz von Heiden Arena, ready for thumping guitars and a raindrop or two. A rain cape was definitely an advantage in the open-air stadium. All information about the setlist, the weather and first impressions.
The stadium gates opened at 4 p.m. The first showers poured down, but disappeared again before the evening started at 7 p.m. with Megadeth as the opening act. A short time later, Iron Maiden took the stage. They had to endure some rain towards the end – after the first half of their show it got wet again in the stadium.
Photos and videos from the evening in Hanover capture the atmosphere of the concert.
Setlist with all fan classics
The setlist contained all the essential favorite songs from 50 years of band existence: from “The Trooper” to “Iron Maiden” and “Run to the Hills” to “Fear of the Dark” as an encore. Despite their advanced age, Janick Gers, Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harris brought a lot of energy to the stage. Iron Maiden impressively demonstrated in Hanover that you can still deliver at (almost) 70. If you still want to see Iron Maiden live this summer, you can do so at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring as well as at the Nova Rock festival.
