Irene Moors crafty aunt? “She is really sucking up to Linda de Mol”

Irene Moors is trying to get a white foot with Linda de Mol in an attempt to save her TV career, thinks TV connoisseur Rob Goossens. “By putting on stupid glasses!”

Irene Moors’ TV career has fizzled out due to overconfidence. In 2015 she did a Jochem van Geldertje, in other words: leaving a successful TV program because you want more, while outside of that hit format you are not really that much. He did it with Praatjesmakers, she with her Sunday afternoon show with Carlo on RTL 4.

Irene with sunglasses

We don’t hear much from Irene these days, except when she lashes out at critical media again. Her hatred of it runs so deep that last year in the Linda de Mol series Five Live she even took on the role of Angela de Jong, to play how she got a studio lamp on her head and ended up in the hospital in a comatose state.

This time Irene does another favor to the fallen TV queen. Well, indirectly. She has put on sunglasses to promote the new sunglasses collection of Linda’s daughter-in-law Chelsey Weimar. “I suddenly noticed that on Instagram,” says TV critic Rob Goossens in the latest, packed episode of The BLVD Podcast.

Stupid glasses

What exactly is going on? “That Chelsey, that’s a model. She once sat in Holland’s Next Top Model, among other things, and she has just launched a line of glasses. It has to be promoted and suddenly I see Irene Moors passing by with stupid glasses that just don’t fit her at all,” says Rob.

He continues: “And then I thought: poor Irene Moors, you first had that wig put on to make fun of Angela de Jong in Five Live – actually because Linda de Mol wanted that of course, so apparently it is: you say , we play – and now she is even going to promote the glasses of Linda de Mol’s daughter-in-law.”

White foot

Why does Irene do that according to Rob? “To – yes, that’s how it feels to me – to get a white foot with the De Mol family.”

Colleague Luuk Ikink: “Because there might be a TV program coming up later, you would think?”

Rob: “Yes, you do indeed see: when Linda de Mol starts doing projects, Irene Moors will be called more and more often, just like Lies Visschedijk, of course, under speed dial sit. So maybe it works in that respect.”

Knick knacks

A little later, when it comes to the SBS 6 show Klein Maar Fijn, in which Jan Versteegh is quite interchangeable as a presenter, Luuk jokingly remarks: “And could Irene Moors do that too?”

Rob: “Very good question. Well, Irene Moors, she is scoring points of course. Haha. Promoting knick-knacks from a child-in-law one more time and she can indeed take over Klein Maar Fijn.”

What do they call Irene? A ‘nepotante’. Ai… That will be open shoes for Irene today.
