Iranian film director Dariush Mehrjuiwinner of the Golden Shell of San Sebastianand his wife Vahideh Mohammadifarwere stabbed to death by unknown attackersaccording to Iranian media reported this Sunday.
Judicial sources told the state agency IRNA that Mehrjui, 83, and Mohammadifar were discovered with stab wounds to the neck in their home in the city of Karaj, near Tehran.

Mehrjui was one of the founders of the new wave of Iranian cinema in the 70s and his movie ‘Cow‘ is considered the initial work of this realist movement.
