TEHRAN (dpa-AFX) – According to Iranian Vice President Mohammed-Resa Aref, the system regulating the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf is to be fundamentally changed. β€œThe Strait of Hormuz regime will no longer be what it was before,” wrote Aref on Platform He added that the opponents’ original goal – to bring about political change in Iran – had only led to “regime change in Hormuz.”

According to Iranian information, only those ships whose owners are not involved in the war against Iran will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in the future. Ships that are associated with states or actors that Tehran considers to be supporting the war will be barred from transit. The Iranian parliament is also planning a law that would introduce a toll system for the strait. Accordingly, ships would have to pay fees for passage in the future./vee/DP/he
