İpek Öz was eliminated in the first round of the International Canberra Tennis Tournament, in the women’s singles category, losing 2-0 to Taylah Preston.
İpek (world number 234), who was among the last 32 players in the organization held in Canberra, the capital of Australia, faced Preston (170) from the host country.
The 25-year-old national tennis player lost the 1.5-hour match 2-0 (6-3, 7-6) and said goodbye to the tournament with a total prize of 125 thousand dollars in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) activity program.
