A Polish motorist was arrested last night for driving under the influence and having a false driver’s license. This happened at a border control on the A37.
The man also appeared to have outstanding fines of 800 euros. The Royal Military Police North reports that the Pole was traveling with a false Ukrainian driver’s license.
The service writes on Instagram that the driver was caught during a large national check along the border with Germany. It was held by Dutch and German authorities. In Wymeer, Germany, just across the border at Bellingwolde, a German was arrested and had to serve another 8 months in prison.
In addition, several fines were issued, a driver’s license was confiscated and a wrong-way vehicle was taken off the road. “All in all, great results,” concludes the Marechaussee.
