INTERVIEW. “Some things I haven’t even told my wife: they are uncountable”: Thierry Coppieters (96) is at the forefront of every war commemoration | Interior

In Belgium, in Canada or this weekend in the United Kingdom: when a World War is commemorated somewhere, there is a good chance that Squire Thierry Coppieters ‘t Wallant will be in the front row. He is 96 years old today, he was 13 years old when the Second World War broke out and he helped his father in the resistance. “The day I saw my father again, after three years in a concentration camp, was the hardest day of my life.”
