INTERVIEW. Co-chairman Jong Groen is terminally ill: “It hits you hard if you can no longer do very simple things”

Knead clay? Hurts. Cutting vegetables? Can’t keep up. Life expectancy? Ten years, maybe. Laura Schuyesmans, 27 years young, co-chair of Jong Groen, is terminally ill and has ten years to live. She could go on a world trip, or something else to get the most out of life. But Laura continues to pursue her ideals: “If I had to stop with my engagements, my own thoughts would drive me crazy.”
