Today the internet consultation for the adjusted subsidy scheme will start ‘more hours’. With the adjusted scheme, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment wants to enable activities that encourage more hours of work. Industry organizations, R&D funds, employers’ and/or employee organizations can make a request together or only. The aim of the scheme is to contribute to combating the staff shortage in sectors such as healthcare, childcare and education.

The scheme is adjusted because the current regulation was too complicated. As a result, many partnerships were unable to find the subsidy scheme. The amended scheme subsidizes the hiring of intervention partners at the competitive rate to do the implementation. In addition, there are fewer administrative burdens. There is also an extra period for applying for subsidies from 2 to 16 June 2025.

The first phase of the program more hours works! runs from 2024 to 2029, for which it has received € 30 million from the National Growth Fund. € 6.6 million is available for the implementation of seven interventions. Utrecht University is going to do research whether the interventions have an effect.

The Internet consultation runs from 8 to 22 April 2025.
