Inter, Peppino Prisco in the Hall of Fame with Pagliuca, Materazzi, Sneijder and Eto’o

The historic vice president was voted for the 2021 Special Award: before the match against Salernitana the ceremony with Gianluca Pagliuca, Marco Materazzi, Wesley Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o

Always Alpine, always Nerazzurri. At 18 in the Russian campaign, at 24 as a partner of Inter, at 27 as secretary and then as director, already with 29 candles not yet extinguished. Peppino Prisco has been Inter for over half a century, the symbol par excellence of the Nerazzurri soul, the embodiment of the fan between visceral passion and disarming irony. Vice-president of the club from 1963 to 2001, the lawyer will officially enter the club’s Hall of Fame tomorrow.

Single

Despite having passed away over twenty years ago, in December 2001, Prisco is also a well-known name among Inter fans “under 30”, because his unconditional love for the Nerazzurri colors transcends years and footballing eras. Of course, television appearances at the end of the Nineties and his unforgettable quotes help (“After shaking hands with an AC Milan fan I run to wash it. After shaking it with a Juventus player, I count my fingers”) and it is no coincidence that the supporters Italian champions have chosen him to pay homage with the Special Prize.

Identification

As part of the Hall of Fame, which obviously includes the strongest players in the history of the club, the Special Prize is awarded to those who have distinguished themselves over the years for their dedication to Inter and for social initiatives. Thus Prisco is the fourth personality – one per annual edition – to boast this recognition, after the Moratti family in 2018, Astutillo Malgioglio in 2019 and Ernesto Pellegrini in 2020. The fans have chosen the lawyer from a “pool” of four names : beaten the Policlinico di Milano – candidate for the fight against Covid -, Claudio Bertazzi – president of the Inter Club Desenzano del Garda for 40 years – and Enzo Bernasconi, a member of the Inter Club Tri Basei who cycled for 1,277 kilometers for a fundraising for Bolivian children.

The celebration

Tomorrow, before Inter-Salernitana, the Special Prize will be awarded just at the same moment in which the four winning players of the 2021 edition will be officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame: Gianluca Pagliuca, Marco Materazzi, Wesley Sneijder and Samuel Eto’o. Four former players and a true legend, all unforgettable for the Nerazzurri people.
