Inter on Kostic, but there is also a plan B

The Nerazzurri are studying a new assault with Eintracht by relying on the player’s will. Meanwhile, the list of alternatives gets longer: Angelino (Leipzig) and Castagne (Leicester)

The countdown has started and time is running out. One week after the transfer market closes, Inter must complete the two priority missions identified by the coach and management: find a left winger and a forward capable of filling the sudden void created by Correa’s injury. If on the latter front we evaluate the double path that leads to Caicedo and Salcedo, the main topic on the agenda in the upcoming market summit between technician and managers, some news could soon arrive also on that deputy Perisic that the technician he asked in unsuspecting times. The Nerazzurri have in fact intensified their search by adding Angelino (Leipzig) and the former Atalantino Castagne (Leicester) to the list of candidates, but in the meantime they do not give up the two main candidates of the first hour, namely Filip Kostic and Ramy Bensebaini. A new assault is ready for the first.

The options

The Spanish of Leipzig and the Belgian are the names that emerged over the weekend on the proposal of their respective agents, but they are also impractical tracks due to the contractual situations of both, bound until 2025. Both Leipzig and Leicester reject the hypothesis of to sell them without a future purchase obligation at figures already agreed, but Inter does not intend to sell. Among other things, considering the figures spent by the British for Castagne (20 million) and by the Germans for Angelino (18 million), it is difficult for both to think about figures that are compatible with the parameters and forecasts of Nerazzurri spending. So all that remains is to beat other tracks, which Marotta and Ausilio have been doing for a while and have not stopped doing. The rumors of recent days on Thorsby are a demonstration of this, although the hypothesis has cooled almost in the bud. But the Serbian Kostic, the number one goal since day one, is picking up on the “hot” slopes.

The pressing

This is the main front of the last few hours, because the management intends to try again. So far, Eintracht has shown itself adamant in the face of the loan proposal without a repayment obligation, but at the Nerazzurri there is a feeling that in the end the Germans can give up. In Frankfurt they know that in June the Serbian will enter his last year of contract and the handle of the knife will go to the side of the player, who the Nerazzurri are counting on now as an ally. In fact, the latest attempt conceived by Inter envisages the active participation of the player through his agent, Lucci (who already has four players in the Nerazzurri), in the hope that pressing will convince Eintracht to accept a simple loan. Kostic has already expressed his desire to move to Milan and will soon reaffirm it, confirming his intention not to discuss the renewal of the contract which expires in 2023. It is not excluded that Inter may eventually make an effort by accepting the obligation, but certainly at figures much lower than the 10 million that Eintracht would like to obtain. The arm wrestling is still in progress and the Nerazzurri prepare a new lunge.
